There is no ～とThere isn't any～は似ています。違いは例文として、There is no treeは木がない。There isn't any treeはどんな(いかなる)木もない。決まりとしてnotの後ろにはanyがついてきます。areの方は名詞が複数形です。There are no trees.(木がない)there aren't any treesとなります。
